  • Y. C. NANDA

    Chairman- ACCESS ASSIST (Former Chairman, National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development)

    Y C Nanda was the former Chairman of NABARD, (1998-2003). Previously he worked for a short period in the State Bank of India before joining the Reserve Bank of India. The Government of India appointed Y. C. Nanda as a member of the National Commission for Farmers in 2004, whose work was completed in November 2006. He has worked as a microfinance expert with FAO, IFAD, UNOPS, and GTZ for their projects in India and abroad. Additionally, he has also worked with NCAER and Sir Rattan Tata Trust as a consultant. Presently, he is Chairman of AFC Ltd, also working as Director and Trustee with a number of institutions in the microfinance, rural development, and management education sectors in India.

  • VIJAYALAKSHMI DAS

    Managing Director, Friends of Women World Banking

    Vijayalakshmi Das is currently MD, FWWB and has been with associated development activities for over 25 years. She joined the organization at a crucial stage of FWWB¹s growth and worked on the strategic positioning of the institution by formulating the first business plan, building a committed team and its capital base. She has been member of Project Advisory Group CGAP, various Task Forces in the areas of Gender, Microfinance and Micro Insurance and also as a member of the Board of Trustees of Sa-Dhan, the Association of Community Development Finance Institutions and Access Development Services. She is also one of the founding Trustees of Indian School of Microfinance for Women.

  • N. SRINIVASAN

    Development Consultant

    N. Srinivasan is a student of development economics and was a development banker for almost 30 years in RBI and NABARD. Since leaving the bank, he has been pursuing a career as a freelancer in development finance and rural development projects in India and abroad. He has contributed to several articles to journals and newspapers; contributing as a joint author to three books; blogging regularly on the CGAP microfinance blog page; and presenting several papers in international and national conferences and seminars. He currently serves on the Board of Trustees of Mahabank Agricultural and Rural Development Foundation, Bank of Maharashtra, Pune, Hand in Hand Trust -Tamil Nadu, and ASSIST- New Delhi. He is a Board member of Microfinance Transparency, USA and Advisor to Green Microfinance, USA.

  • N. K. MAINI

    Former DMD, SIDBI

    N K Maini has over 38 years of experience in commercial and development banking with UCO Bank, IDBI and his last assignment was as DMD at SIDBI. He is currently on the board of MUDRA, MFIN, NSCCL and Kanika Investments. He is a part of the Advisory Committee of Ivy Cap Venture Trust Fund and Lok Capital Group. He is skilled in core business functions of banks and has extensive experience in venture capital and structuring financial products.

  • S. G. ANIL KUMAR

    Managing Director, Samunnati

    Anil is founder and managing director of Samunnati, an enterprise focused exclusively on value chain finance for Inclusive Growth with a belief that for a value chain to work well, all the chain actors need have access to formal financial instruments. Over the last decade Anil’s work focused on creating newer institutions across the country and operating in the financially excluded markets with corresponding support structures for their capacity building. Anil specializes in designing newer models of delivery of financial services in the excluded markets in both urban and rural areas and developing newer products around credit and widening the range of products that include investments, pensions, insurance and remittances.

  • K. C. RANJINI

    Founder Trustee, MI India

    Ranjani is a financial services and development specialist with over 25 years’ experience in the financing and development of MSME sector in India. Previously she served, as managing director of Dia Vikas, the Indian subsidiary of Opportunity International Australia. Prior to Opportunity, Ranjani held a senior management position with Small Industries Bank of India (SIDBI), the apex development finance institution for MSMEs in India, where she served as a core team member in creating SIDBI’s pioneering microfinance program which helped mainstream microfinance in India. She has also worked with MicroSave as a senior microfinance specialist.

  • VIPIN SHARMA

    Managing Trustee

    Vipin is the founding CEO of ACCESS Development Services, established as a Spin-Off of CARE International, supported by DFID. Vipin started his career with the Reserve Bank of India in 1980, and subsequently moved to NABARD, Apex Rural Development finance agency of the Govt. of India. As a part of his career in NABARD, he set up the Apex Bank’s sole farmer outreach programme. He opened two of the first district offices of NABARD, designing the District Credit Plans and monitoring fund flow for agri and rural development in the Districts. Vipin represented NABARD as a Board Member in the local Regional Rural Bank and the District Cooperative Bank. In 1996, Vipin was invited by the Govt. of Rajasthan to set up the country’s only Agency – RUDA (as its Executive Director) to promote rural livelihoods on a sub sector basis. In 2000, Vipin joined CARE India as the Programme Director, Microfinance and Small businesses and was a part of CARE’s South Asia Leadership team. Besides managing the India portfolio, he helped set up a South Asia Investment Fund for CARE for MFIs, post the Tsunami in 2005. In March 2006, he set up ACCESS as a CARE Spin-off to promote livelihoods of the poor in India, and in 2009, he helped set up ACCESS –ASSIST, a specialised affiliate of ACCESS for advancing financial inclusion in the country.

  • RADHIKA AGASHE

    Executive Director, ACCESS ASSIST

    Radhika is the Executive Director of ACCESS-ASSIST and has led the organization since it was set up in 2010, contributing to its evolution to a think tank, broadening the portfolio from microfinance to financial inclusion. She specializes in microfinance operations, responsible finance, social research, financial education and training and curriculum development. She holds a Post Graduate degree from the Indian Institute of Forest Management. She has been an active member on Working Groups of Social Performance Task Force (SPTF) and has represented ASSIST on the India Responsible Finance Forum. Radhika has in the past been associated with many organizations of repute such as EDA Rural Systems, BASIX, Intellecap and Sambodhi Research and Communications.

  • SUDIPTO SAHA

    Vice President, ACCESS ASSIST

    Sudipto Saha is currently working as a Vice President in ACCESS ASSIST and having more than 15 years of microfinance, livelihoods and development experience across India and other countries like Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Sri Lanka. His key responsibilities include initiating, planning, formulating & implementing various proposals, studies and assignments for institutions in India and other countries. He is very experienced in monitoring and leading operations team. He has provided technical handholding and capacity building services to several community based institutions working in financial inclusion & livelihoods including co-operatives, trusts, societies, among others. He has also been involved in the promotion of 15 community based institutions in the form of Farmers Producers Organization (FPOs) in West Bengal and is providing them strategic and operational inputs to make them sustainable and viable.

    Prior to joining ACCESS ASSIST, Mr. Saha worked for EDA/M-CRIL being involved in conducting Impact Assessments of Institutions at the individual, household and community levels. He also conducted social rating exercises of several organisations in India and Bangladesh and was involved in credit rating exercises across India. Before joining EDA, Sudipto worked with a funding agency (Sir Ratan Tata Trust) being responsible for appraisal, review and monitoring of various livelihoods & microfinance projects across several states in India.

  • SUBIR GHOSH

    Associate Vice President- Program Support

    Subir Ghosh leads ACCESS’s financial strategy and operations including grant and contract management. Prior to joining ACCESS, Subir has worked with Oxfam, Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust (HLFPPT), Gramin Vikas Trust (GVT) and ABC India Ltd. He has over 18 years of experience of which 16 years have been in the development Sector. Subir specialises in financial planning, fund management, budgeting, donor financial contract management, audits, and taxation, implementation of systems & processes and general administration. He has extensive experience in administering large budgets funded by donors like USAID, European Union, UNICEF, UNDP, Dell Foundation, DFID and CIDA. Subir has completed his CWA (Final Group I) and MBA in Finance.

  • LALITHA SRIDHARAN

    Senior Manager Program Support

    Lalitha Sridharan is an experienced administration professional of over 20 years with sound expertise in planning big event management. Before joining ACCESS, she started her career with CARE India an International NGO. In ACCESS she manages overall office operations, administrative systems, procedures, and policies and HR administration.

  • KEERTI BHANDARY

    Manager, Inclusive Finance India Summit

    Keerti leads the Inclusive Finance India initiative at ASSIST. She is versatile in stakeholder management for not for profit organizations and adept in strategising and organizing large format networking platforms, along with experience in capacity building of community based organizations in enterprise building. She has completed her M.A in Development from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru and graduation in B.A Economics and Sociology from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. Previously, she has worked with Kudumbashree National Resource Organization under the National Rural Livelihoods Mission, GOI.

  • KAPIL PATIL

    Manager

    Kapil works as Manager with ACCESS and leads the finance vertical for Farmer Producer Company and Micro-enterprises. Kapil has a more than six years of experience ranging from government, non-profit and corporate on access to finance domain. Kapil has co-founded AgriTech enterprise and worked extensively on impact investment space. Kapil worked with leading Public Sector Bank in India for design and development of rural finance strategies. Kapil was receipt of prestigious Sayajirao Gaekwad Fellowship and UnLtd Fellowship. He is passionate about bringing affordable capital to marginalized communities and upscaling social businesses. He holds MBA from Indian Institute of Forest Management and Bachelor of Pharmacy from L M College of Pharmacy, Gujarat University.

  • AASTHA ELAWADHI

    Senior Project Coordinator - Communication

    Aastha Elawadhi Senior Project Coordinator – Communication Aastha is a Communication Professional, having more than 5 years of experience working with NPO’s in the environment and skill development sector. Prior to ACCESS, she was working with ICA Edu Skills, Toxics Link and International Union for Conservation of Nature-India. She has also interned with WWF-India and Lowe Lintas. Aastha is a graduate in Journalism and Mass Communication from IP University and certified graphic designer from Arena Animation.     Priyamvada is development professional with experience in rural development. She has previously worked with Rajasthan SRLM. She has done her graduation in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram college, Delhi University and her post-graduation in Development studies from Azimpremji University, Bangalore.
